Resources for Families, Individuals and Professionals

A Decade of Community Service

For the past 10 years, our community has demonstrated how much it values families through its commitment to supporting The Family Center. Volunteers, donors and all of our partners are sharing their time and expertise, providing in-kind donations and giving generously with financial contributions. Our community prides itself on raising healthy, resilient, successful youth. There is evidenced-based knowledge that raising healthy children encourages the growth of healthy families and healthy neighborhoods, ultimately creating a healthy community that we all benefit from. These have been challenging times, but The Family Center has been there to serve those in need and everyone who wants to be the best parent that they can be!

Many of you will recall the beginning days when The Family Center emerged with only educational presentations. Since that time we have blossomed in a variety of ways to reach our invested audience. We offer 52 weekly Ask the Experts columns in the Grosse Pointe News that are sought after by both parents and professionals. Our website has expanded into a dynamic online resource that offers a convenient and confidential way for parents to connect with competent practitioners and specialized services through our Association of Professionals. An expanded calendar of events now includes community events along with Family Center items. We continue to provide a well attended series of presentations that speak to parenting issues and the important transitions of school-age children.

I ask for your support as we embark on our next decade of commitment to our community families. The Family Center has been a leader. We have done this together with your help. As we enter our next decade of service, I hope that you will stand with us in being that go-to resource. We cannot do this alone. We have succeeded because of you, our partners, who cared to make that community commitment.
